Description

This National Heritage Classic Lawn Edging – features a special coating designed to weather naturally, creating a rusty effect over time. However, the strength of the edging is not affected as the rust sits on top of the metal underneath and protects it against the elements.

Simple to install, this edging requires very little maintenance and provides an attractive yet practical solution to keeping lawns, paths and flower beds neat and tidy. If you have corners to go around, the strips can be bent using a high heat to create any angle required with ease.

Not to be confused with inferior designs this is a high quality and sturdy lawn edging designed for creating a defined lawn edge which can take the everyday wear and tear expected in high traffic pedestrian lawn areas.

Features:

Material: Steel.
Supplied in individual strips that connect together with a four hole bridging plate.
40x 1.2 metre strips.
Pre-welded stakes are 10mm diameter.

Height: Our standard option is a 75mm tall strip, but we also offer 100mm and 125m.

Product thickness: Our standard thickness is 2mm, but we also offer 3mm and 4mm. If bending around corners we would recommend the 2mm edging. For a better defined and higher quality finish we would recommend the thicker edging.

Finish: our standard finish is matt silver steel but we do offer the matt rusted steel for that more immediate aged traditional garden feel.

The included bridging plates sits behind the lawn edging so the usable length of the strips does remain at 1.2m. For example if you need to edge 15m of lawn you will require 15m of strips.
The bridging plate is included with the four slimline nuts and bolts to fit into the countersunk edging strips to produce a beautiful flat surface on the outer edge.

Fitting instructions:
Prepare the lawn edge by cutting a straight line the length of the required line. The line should be around 7.5cm deep to the top of the required level.
Connect as many edging strips together as you can move without twisting or applying undue pressure to the strips, we would recommend two.
To connect the strips lay face down with the entire stake visible and place the bridging plate on the top of the join. Line up the holes and insert the bolt from underneath the strip to ensure a flush finish on the visible front side. Insert the washer and apply the nut. Tighten to ensure no movement between the strips.

To insert a corner or bend into a strip it is important that it is never perfectly squarely to prevent a rise or fall in the running height of the edging. Find a heat proof surface with a sufficient drop to bend the strip. Clamp or press the strip so it won’t move during the bending process. Heat the strip where the bend is to be placed and apply pressure to slowly achieve the required bend. Allow to cool before fitting.

  1. Rachel Mehiri

Very impressed with the high quality of this product and impressed at the ease of installation and especially the ease of bending it around a corner. When researching this item I wasnt sure if we should get the heavy duty edging, but the standard one is very substantial.

  2. Country girl

This edging does exactly what its supposed to. Its easy to use and looks great when in place. It only took me half an hour to do a 10 metre hexagonal shape using 10 x 1 metre lengths of edging.I do think that it is expensive though, considering each 1 metre length costs over 8.

  3. allan

I was expecting this to be quite tricky to install, but it really didnt take that long to edge 25 metres of beds. A sharp spade, a mallet, a screwdriver, and a block of wood was all I needed. Wish Id done this sooner

  4. Manuel Vogel

Nice edging and better than plastic varieties but less costeffective being metal. Can be problematic securing it in very stony soils but overall does a fine job.

  5. Philippa Coates

Arrived very quickly, well packaged. Have used it before and very well happy with it hence repeat order, easy to put in place. Will be ordering some more in the autumn to complete the garden once we have finished the project.

  6. jaime abner

    Superb.

  7. Stephen and Maryann
