   I have an intex challenget Mk1 K1 and it has held up to a good beating for the last three years. I decided to purchase the Mk2 K2 because i will be using it for a week long excursion around the Norfolk broads and will be taking both the dogsuseless navigators but EXCELLENT ballast. The MK2 is an improvement over what was already an incredibly good kayak for the money. The MK1 didnt track very well and had no fin. The MK2 benefits from having a fin and it tracks quite well. The seats are improved and I prefer the colour. The material that the intex challenger uses is very,very tough. I have scraped along stony bottoms in shallow water,hit a jagged log that was submersed around 3 below the surface and i really thought that was it for the kayak. Nope. A long scratch but no breach. There is loads of storage space both aft and bow,the seats gives reasonably good back support but i would recommend that you fully inflate the back rest and only semi inflate the seat.This is simply because the seat sits a little high if fully inflated and the sides of the backrest tend to ride up against the inside of the craft. Or maybe I just need to lose weight…A few does and donts DO NOT overtighten the Boston valves that inflate floor and sides. If you cross thread them they will leak and that is about it for the kayak unless you want to be pumping it up every 15 minute or so. Turn the male part until it is finger tight and then maybe another quarter of a turn. They dont need to be tight for a seal to be created. DO NOT take this kayak out on the ocean unless you are absolutely certain of calm sea conditions,it is a low profile kayak and has no drainage. A few good waves and your going to fill up.DO NOT over inflate.You risk splitting the seams or stretching the body out of shape,causing it to list to one side. Use the 10cm calibration stripyoull find it inside the manual package and if you lose it,inflate the kayak up to the point that you can press your thumb into it about an inch.A little on the soft side will still float you 100 fine. DO use a lifejacket and invest a few pounds in a paddle leash. The paddles. Ive read a few negative reviews on the paddles that are supplied with this kayak and i think that the users were eitherA clubbing other kayakers with themB unlucky to have got part of a dodgy batch. I like them. They can be feathered, the blades are a nice shape,they are quite light and as long as you use them sensibly,they will do the job..To concludeThis isnt a rubber duck. It is strong,portablenot too heavy,around 20lb or soand incredibly good value for money when compared to kayaks three times the pricei have a gumotex Helios K1 that cost me around 350.Superb, but the Intex gives it a run for its money in the strenght department at LEAST,has a gaurantee and if used within the manufacturers stipulations,should last you for a good long while. Oh and the pump is pretty good.Inflation time of around 510 minutes.No hesitation recommending this kayak, based upon experience and not just what it looks like.Have fun and be safe

   Love this kayak its amazing. One warning is the repair kit is useless and doesnt hold its like stickers that dont even stretch as the kayak expands. I have recently had a leak come though the end of an inflatable panel on the inside near where feet go but ots on the seem and struggling to get anything to hold the air in……. so have to row and keep stopping to inflate. I dont want to send it back as they are alot more pricey than when I got it 2 months ago and now in a dilemma what to do. Overall top kayak good size easy to setup and great fun.. but even with my ocd of cleaning it and looking after it the seems are starting to go on the seating area at the end and inbetween inflatable ribs. I guarentee toy this is not due to over inflating it must be a weak point on the kayak…. Happy with it but not with longevity…

   I have had this for 4 years and am finally retiring it and buying a gumotex. I had so much fun and use of out of it, good to have bought to see if I did like kayaking. I live on the Norfolk Broads, and fell in love. Its easy to carry, and dries quickly. The bag it came in was shoddy, but the boat itself was stable and easy to paddle on my own or with someone else. My 6ft tall boyfriend fit in it fine with me. The seats are very comfy more than my gumotex and plenty of luggage space for a tent for overnight trips. I never capsized, and found it easy to get in and out of on the water. The skeg meant it goes in a straight line and handled ok with some wind. Sadly it got its first puncture whilst on holiday in the lake district. It was on the keel. The second and third punctures were inside, right on the seam in the centre of the boat where my feet go. Although the punctures can be repaired with stormsure, I found myself having to repair one of the 3 punctures after every use,and only going out for 3 or 4 hours at the most as I lost confidence in the boat, particularly as with only 2 chambers theres not much scope when it goes wrong. For a cheap intro, no commitment on space I drive a tiny car that wont fit a hard shell in it was a delight. If you want better reliability, go sevylor or gumotex. And ALWAYS take your pump and puncture repair kit out with you. NEVER let it scrape onto a stony shore slipway to land.

   Was unsure how well this would turn out, but was pleasantly surprised. Spent a week north of Ripon in both low and fast flowing high water. Given that Im near100kg and my son around 80,i felt safe and comfortable and even managed a riverside rescue. Only 4 stars because deflating this without a pump is more challenging than it should be.

   Only been out in it once but I am very impressed. This kayak inflates incredibly quickly. Id already blown up the footrest and seats before I got to the waters edge. The kayak itself was done in under five minutes.Once on the water it is relatively easy to get into and with consistent paddling it gets you through the water in a straight line. The included oars are pretty good although a friend of mine who also has this kayak uses a single piece oar and says it is a lot better. I did my research and found that this kayak included a Skeg which other reviewers had said was a key feature of this kayak and reviewers of similar kayaks in this price range had said they had bought skegs as a 1015 optional extra. So I thought why not just buy the kayak that has it in the first place.I paddled alone so cannot comment on how suitable it is at carrying two adults. I intend on taking my four year old son out in it eventually and it will be more than capable.I did find it got carried by the wind but that is something that will happen with every inflatable as they just dont have the mass to handle the effects of the wind. This lightness does also make getting out of kayak quite difficult without getting wet. Again this isnt going to be unique to this kayak but because it is very stable there is little chance of it capsizing. I imagine you probably could if you tried hard enough but it would take some effort. I found myself sitting up whilst paddling rather than leaning back into the seat. Perhaps I need to adjust the strap that goes around the back of the seat for better comfort but I did find that this was the only thing stopping me from giving this kayak five stars. I was slightly uncomfortable after about an hour or so.Overall though I am very pleased with its performance and it isnt too difficult to pack away. I gave it a quick hose down when I got home and left it out to dry in the sun for a day or so. You will need to towel down the inner bits to get it completely dry. It packs back down nicely and isnt too heavy once all back in its bag although you wouldnt want to carry it too far.I would highly recommend it.
