good starter kayak to introduce kids to boating. we have a 6 year old and 5 year old. have spent many an evening off brighton beach kayaking up and down.obviously would suggest getting life jackets we got ours kids some form decathlon at a very good price. The pump is inadequate, we havnt even bothered trying its too flimsy but we use an electric blow up bed pump which works a treat .

    Good value fun

Fantastic kayak for just over two hundred pounds. Took it out to the lake with my son, it was easy to inflatedeflate. The seats are surprisingly good. The paddles are a bit flimsy, but okay for occasional recreational use. Being plastic dont have to worry to much about drying it.

Bought this when it was at an all time low price and for the money about 80 I think, it was a bargain. Put it all together at home first just to ensure I knew what I was doing and was surprised how quickly it was to blow up and assemble. Ive been out on it twice now in the calm waters of Poole harbour and I was pleasantly surprised how quickly this goes with two people paddling. I had thought with the less streamline shape than this solid kayaks that are like a dart in the water, it would be slow going, but get both passengers working in sync and you get places surprisingly quickly. You do sit quite low in it compared to traditional kayaks, so you have to dig the paddels into the water each side, which means you get a bit of splash back from the other side, but not too much. The main problem I found is getting enough back support from the seats to sit upright. Im getting on a bit second half of my 50s and Im not as nimble or flexible as I used to be, so found it quite uncomfortable at first before I got into a good position. You have to pull the straps for the seats really tight to get the backrest to actually hold you upright. Interestingly, I found it far more comfortable in the back seat, whereas my wife found it better in the front. Horses for courses I guess. I have invested in a rechargable electric pump to save all the manual pumping to inflate it, purely to save my back, but I havent tried that yet. Its easily liftable by two once inflated and getting into it was easier than I imagined it would be you just sort of fall into it from the side. Felt very safe in it out on the water too considering Im a nonswimmer I did have a lifejacket on too though. All in all great fun at an affordable price.

Worth every penny Honestly struggling to say something bad about this particular kayak… See my edit belowMy ONLY reservations The bag it comes with is rather thin and flimsy I can see the zip tearing from the fabric at some point despite being careful. The bag itself is not designed for carrying long distances either. I found having both handles over a single shoulder made carrying the weighty kayak much more comfortable that simply holding it at my side with my hands.Where the rubbery material of the kayak is joined together there are small smooth ridges a mm or two high. One such ridge is about level with where my hands sit naturally when I paddle the boat in the water. It is only of very slight discomfort when my hands brush against it….and thats it Everything else about this boat is perfect considering its price. Time will tell of its durability Ive taken mine onto various rivers around eight times now. Ive been on similar inflatable kayaks that have cost three times as much money and handle almost exactly the same and are less easy to look after a fabric coating for example. I wholeheartedly give this product both thumbs upEDIT Its only fair for me to add to this review that today I was inflating my kayak and a 80mm split appeared along one of the PVC seams rendering my kayak sadly broken. Ive looked into repair options but because of the size of the hole and its position Im not holding out too much hope. Ive had this kayak for about a year and Ive used it around 25 times. Most of my kayak excursions were out onto my local river, but Ive also taken it out onto the sea a few times great fun but that sand is annoying. I consider myself having looked after it well while not being too precious about it either I dont think I ever over inflated it, I avoided sharp objects and always tried to let it dry out before folding it away. Although I feel like Ive got good use out of this kayak for its money and considering this is a budget model too, Im nevertheless going to deduct a star because I genuinely thought Id be out on the river for a few years to come.SECOND EDIT So, I decided to give fixing the kayak a shot and with a bit of research I bought Highlander Stormseal Adhesive from Amazon and applied a whole tubes worth of glue over the damaged seam. Giving the glue time to set I blew the kayak halfway up then added a second generous coating to be extra sure. Today I took my newly fixed kayak back out onto the river and Im extremely happy to say that it took the full punishment of being blown fully up and being folded away back into the bag afterwards. I guess Ill always be that little bit more careful of how I inflate the kayak and pack it away but despite the fix itself looks a little messy Im so glad to have my kayak back in working order again

The kayak is great easy to inflate and its near impossible to capsize. My only gripe is that it came without the back plug which means that it filled up with water which made it heavy. Now we have to do a whole replacement as they couldnt just send the plug… check for the plug before you put it in the water

    Excellent Stability and quality

  10. Mr. D. Power

This is our first Kayak and we chose this one from looking around, excellent price and a lot included. Pumps up really easy with the pump provided, the valves are excellent The quality of the materials feels really tough and makes it feel very sturdy Oars are fine, maybe not terrific but they did us well im 6ft 3 and 15 stone, i felt really really comfortable lots of room with a child on board with me, plenty of room for 2 adults aswell and still 2 spaces to store things. I think a few of the others have less room than this kayak and this is really flexible to seat different sizes. The D rings attached are really strong and will not rip off as are the large cofortable carry handles. we spent a good few hours with it testing it see pics and really enjoyed it, not regretted this purchase one bit looking at maybe adding a challenger K1 now too this is a big kayak at 3.8m, it feels substantial and gives confidence.a few things i purchased seperate were a dry bag and 2x oar leashes as there isnt any included and think they are must haves.
